Pasar Serikin, Bau, Sarawak

Pasar Serikin is located 80km from Kuching and about 15km from Bau. Pasar Serikin is a border town between Malaysia and Indonesia. Every weekend (Saturday and Sunday), traders from Malaysia and Indonesia open their zinc stalls to sell various items. Traders will setup their stalls Saturday morning and pack out on Sunday evening. Locals may advice that to go shopping on Sunday morning as traders may sells cheaper on that time because on Sunday evening, they will pack back to Indonesia.

The surrounding area is quite hot because the location is very near to equator. It is advisable to drive early if you are from Kuching because it will take 2 hours to reach there. There is no petrol pump so make sure you fill your petrol in Kuching.

Fraser's Hill includes seven peaks, with altitudes between 1,220 and 1,524 meters above sea level. Year round temperatures are between 17°C~25°C / 63°F~77°F.

The resort is situated 64.6 miles (104 km) from the Kuala Lumpur. Today access is easier with dedicated lane for incline and decline the hill resort.

If you are from Kuala Lumpur you can drive to Kuala Kubu Baru (using Rawang exit of North South Expressway). Another alternative if to take Komuter or ETS train from KL Sentral to Kuala Kubu Baru and proceed using taxi.

At the peak, most of tourist location is within walking distance or it easier by using bicycle.

The location is near the Bayan Lepas International Airport and easy access from Penang Bridge.

As a 5 star hotel, the hotel is equipped with swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), Jacuzzi and gymnasium.

Overall my stay here is pleasant and sure I will stay again at the hotel.

Surrounding area is serene and the infinity pool give some privacy to the user.

Penang War Museum

Penang War Museum is located on the top of the hill new Batu Maung, new Penang Second Bridge.

The war museum is a former British fortress designed to protect Penang from Japanese invasion during World War 2.

The fortress is fully armed to the teeth with anti aircraft gun, battery, underground bunker, watch tower and underground storage system for food, water and ammunition.

The museum artifact is well protected with adequate information board to tell history behind every item displayed in the museum.
