Equatorial Hotel Penang

 Changing Room

Forest theme garden inside the hotel

 Jacuzzi

Actual View From the Room

Equatorial Hotel Penang located on the top of the hill in Penang Island. The strategically located hotel is just 15 minute drive to the International Airport, Penang Bridge, Free Trade Industrial Area and Queens bay.

Being located on the top of the hill, the air is breathy and night view is impressive.

The amenities of the hotel is good including outdoor/indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, steam room, Jacuzzi etc.

The rate is reasonable for the five star hotel. But if you are government servant or some selected corporate, you will also entitle to have huge discount.

Penang Hill, Penang, Malaysia

Penang Hill is located about 6km from city centre. You can ride Rapid Penang Bus or Taxi to lower train station, The funicular train will climb 830m to the top of Penang Hill.  Penang Hill is the only funicular train system in South East Asia.

The track built by British completed in1923. At that time, Penang Hill serve as a resort for Briton to escape from Penang tropical heat. The hill also serve as a strategic point to control security and shipping land in Penang.

Recent upgrade of the train completed on 2010. The new train is faster and waiting time is also improve. The new train also air-conditioned.

There is not much activity on the top of the hill. But a nice ABC or literally mean Mixed Crushed Ice (with syrup, nuts and ice-cream) with scenic view of Penang will sure give a memorable experiences.

Queensbay Mall, Penang Island, Malaysia

This is my short trip to Penang. Out first plan is to ride train at Bukit Bendera. But since it is close for upgrading works, we go to Queensbay instead. Travelling is quite smooth, thanks to the widening of Penang bridge.

The Queensbay Mall is quite OK but outdoor parking is not up to the standard. The sea air is very breathy and food stall at the roadside is great,

Enjoy the picture.
