Visa Application to Canada from Malaysia

For Malaysian passport holder, you are required to have visa to visit Canada.
Canada have their high commission in Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
However visa application need to be done at VSF Global office at Menara MCA, Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
The easiest way to go to the Menara MCA is by using LRT Kelana Jaya Line Ampang Park Station.
From the station entrance, turn left and the building is about 50 metres away.
Before you proceed for visa application please ensure the following item had been done.

1) Prepare 2 passport size photograph according to the specification. Please print and give it to your photo printer (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/photospecs-e.pdf)
2) Fill up and print on-line form (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp)
If you are not sure how to fill up the form you can fill the form at VSF Global for nominal fee. But please ensure you have all the information including name and address for you close relative (your parents, sibling and children)
3) Prepare Bank draft in Canadian Dollar. It is CAD75 for single entry and CAD150 for multiple entry.

4) To ease the process, you can submit your passport along with visa application.
5) Submit your application to VSF Global at Menara MCA

Processing of the visa may took 13 days. But for business traveler, the proessing time can be shorten if you attached the financial support letter and invitation letter from your Canadian counterpart.

Colmar Tropicale, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia

Colmar Tropicale is a hill resort located about 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur via Karak Expressway. The France Colmar themed luxury hotel is operated by Berjaya Group.

The entrance fee for the resort is RM12 for adult and RM8 for children. Thee fee is refundable if you stay at the hotel.

There are three main attraction to the resort which are the Colmar Tropicale itself, Botanical garden and Japanese Garden. You can drive to all of the above mentioned attractions besides using free shuttle bus services.

The cafe up there is OK although quite expensive. For budget conscious traveler may opt to eat heavy breakfast at Genting Sempah Rest Area or bring your own food or snacks up there.

Other attraction here is Japanese themed spa called Tatami Spa and La Lavanda Spa. Both spa require advance booking. Tatami Spa is the way too expensive but La Lavanda Spa is OK but you cannot bring children to this place.

Harris Hotel, Batam Centre, Indonesia

Batam Island is located about 90 minutes by ferry from The Zone ferry terminal Johor Bahru (RM125 for two-way ticket) or about 45 minutes from Harbour Front Resort.

Pasar Serikin, Bau, Sarawak

Pasar Serikin is located 80km from Kuching and about 15km from Bau. Pasar Serikin is a border town between Malaysia and Indonesia. Every weekend (Saturday and Sunday), traders from Malaysia and Indonesia open their zinc stalls to sell various items. Traders will setup their stalls Saturday morning and pack out on Sunday evening. Locals may advice that to go shopping on Sunday morning as traders may sells cheaper on that time because on Sunday evening, they will pack back to Indonesia.

The surrounding area is quite hot because the location is very near to equator. It is advisable to drive early if you are from Kuching because it will take 2 hours to reach there. There is no petrol pump so make sure you fill your petrol in Kuching.

Fraser's Hill includes seven peaks, with altitudes between 1,220 and 1,524 meters above sea level. Year round temperatures are between 17°C~25°C / 63°F~77°F.

The resort is situated 64.6 miles (104 km) from the Kuala Lumpur. Today access is easier with dedicated lane for incline and decline the hill resort.

If you are from Kuala Lumpur you can drive to Kuala Kubu Baru (using Rawang exit of North South Expressway). Another alternative if to take Komuter or ETS train from KL Sentral to Kuala Kubu Baru and proceed using taxi.

At the peak, most of tourist location is within walking distance or it easier by using bicycle.
